Federal Programs - Title I

Jamestown Elementary School is designated as school-wide Title I program. Title I is a
federal program which provides additional instruction in reading and math. As a Title I
school, all students K-6 are eligible to receive supplemental instruction from Title I staff in
the building. If you have any additional questions, please contact the school office at (724)

Volunteer Information

In order to volunteer during school hours, you must have all background checks completed. If you are interested in volunteering, please know that it takes a few months for all clearances to return and go through the board approval process. Applications can be obtained in the school office.

Assessments

DIBELS 8th Edition
- DIBELS 8th Edition is a battery of short (one minute) fluency measures that can be used for universal screening, benchmark assessment, and progress monitoring in Kindergarten - 3rd grade.
Firefly Benchmark Assessments
- Firefly Benchmark Assessment is given two times per year. Firefly was developed by PA Department of Education SAS to assist schools as they prepare their students for the rigor of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSAs).
Pennsylvania System School Assessment (PSSA)
- The annual PSSA is a standards-based, criterion-referenced assessment which provides students, parents, educators and citizens with an understanding of student and school performance related to the attainment of proficiency of the academic standards. These standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science and Technology identify what a student should know and be able to do at varying grade levels.
