Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your willingness to serve our community by serving as a volunteer in the Jamestown Area School District.
Pennsylvania legislation, known as Act 153 of 2014, states that all unpaid volunteers are required by law to provide their school district with three clearances and to continue to update all those clearances every five years. There is an exception to the FBI Fingerprint clearance for volunteers who have continuously resided in the State of Pennsylvania for the last continuous ten years. If you are a current volunteer, you will not be required to submit a new TB test.
- If you are a current volunteer and your clearances are dated within a five-year time frame you will still be required to complete a volunteer application before you can be approved for the current school year.
- Please read the Jamestown Area School District Volunteer Policy.
- All prospective volunteers or volunteers that have clearances that are older than five years must obtain the following:
- Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) https://epatch.pa.gov/
- Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse) https://www.compass.dhs.pa.gov/cwis
- You will need to verify on the volunteer application that you have continuously resided in the state of Pennsylvania for the last continuous ten years or a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required. (must choose PA Department of Education if asked) https://uenroll.identogo.com/
- Please use the following Service Code: 1KG6XN
- TB Tested Dated within one year (only if one is not currently on file). Please wait until you have all the necessary documents before turning in your application. Please feel free to contact Patti Jo Uplinger in the Business Office with any questions. (724)932-5152 ext. 1103
